Admission Requirements

Admission requirements are different for each type of student. To see specific admission requirements, choose the type of prospective student that best describes you.

First-Time Freshmen

Applicants who are about to obtain or has obtained a high school diploma or GED from a school accredited by a state or regional accrediting agency and has never attended Paine College or any other post-secondary institution of higher education (unless jointly enrolled while completing high school) are referred to as first-time freshmen.

Transfer Students

Applicants who have attended a college or university after high school, but who now want to work toward a degree at Paine College.

Academic Requirements

Applicants who have completed 28 semester credit hours at another regionally accredited post secondary institution must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and be in good academic standing at the last institution attended with the capability to return.

Re-Admitting Students

Students whose attendance at Paine College has been interrupted for one semester or more.

Admission Requirements

Students who have interrupted attendance for one semester or more and wish to return must apply for re-admission. Applications should be submitted to the Office of Admissions at least 30 days prior to the beginning of the semester in which the student expects to enroll. Official transcripts of all other college work must also be forwarded.

Fort Gordon Students

Paine College is recognized as an adult and military-friendly learning institution that proudly acknowledges men and women who have decided to take on the challenge of furthering their education. To better serve your educational needs, the CAPS program offers an accelerated degree plan. Online and on-site courses are offered every eight weeks for professional military service members, their dependents, and civilians. This will afford you the opportunity to earn your Bachelor's degree in just two years in one of the degree programs we offer. You also have the opportunity to earn college credit by enrolling in the Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) course.

Financial aid is available for qualified applicants who complete the FAFSA application online. Additionally, we accept the GI Bill (Post 911 and Montgomery), Tuition Assistance (TA), Veterans benefits (VA), and any other forms of aid from various funding sources.
